An Evening with Mike Tindall: Rugby for Heroes Black Tie Dinner in Bath
On Friday 9 October 2026, Rugby for Heroes hosted An Evening with Mike Tindall, our Black Tie Dinner at the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel in Bath. Friends, supporters, sponsors and special guests came together for a night of rugby stories, laughter and fundraising in support of serving personnel and veterans.

Rugby Stories with Mike Tindall and Zinzan Brooke
Our Patron, England 2003 Rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindall MBE, was joined by special guest and All Blacks legend Zinzan Brooke. Together they shared stories from the dressing room, unforgettable moments from the pitch and plenty of laughs along the way. MC Mark Atkinson hosted the evening, keeping the conversation flowing throughout.
The Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel provided an elegant setting for the black-tie evening. From the first welcome to the final toast, the room was full of warmth and a real sense of shared purpose.
Old friends and new faces came together for one reason: to raise vital funds that help military personnel make the transition to civilian life through the power of rugby coaching. Seeing so many people united behind that cause was a powerful reminder of why our work matters.
Thank You to Our Guests, Sponsors and Supporters
An event of this kind is only possible thanks to the generosity of many people. On behalf of everyone at Rugby for Heroes, we would like to thank:
Every guest who attended and helped make the evening such a success
Our sponsors and supporters, whose generosity makes our work possible
Everyone who worked behind the scenes to bring the night together
Your time, energy and commitment are hugely appreciated.

How Your Support Helps Veterans and Service Leavers
Since 2011, Rugby for Heroes has worked with the rugby community to raise funds and awareness for military personnel moving into civilian life. Events like the Black Tie Dinner help fund practical, financial and personal support for the armed forces community.
Transition Through Rugby
One of our key programmes, Transition Through Rugby, is a free five-day residential coaching course for serving personnel and veterans. Participants can earn the Level 2 England Rugby Coaching Award, a nationally recognised qualification for coaching at grassroots, mini, junior and senior level at clubs across the UK.
Built on rugby's core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship, the course also offers a sense of belonging and a supportive network at a time of significant change.
Beyond the Uniform
Alongside the coaching course, our Beyond the Uniform networking events connect service leavers with employers, helping them prepare for working life after the military.
