Rugby For Heroes Celebrates the Success of Its 46th Transition Through Rugby Course

We're delighted to announce that our 46th Transition Through Rugby (TTR) cohort has successfully completed its course. It was a week of learning, teamwork, laughter and, of course, plenty of rugby.

At Rugby For Heroes, we know that leaving the Armed Forces is one of the biggest changes a person can face. Every TTR course is designed to make sure no veteran goes through that journey alone, and Cohort 46 showed exactly what the programme can achieve.

What is Transition Through Rugby?

Transition Through Rugby is our free residential coaching course for serving personnel and veterans. Over the course of the week, participants work towards the Level 2 ERCA rugby coaching qualification, accredited by England Rugby.

It's a nationally recognised award, and it gives veterans the skills and confidence to coach at grassroots, mini, junior and senior level. It can be used at any rugby club across the UK.

But TTR is about far more than a certificate. The course also supports mental wellbeing and employability, two of the biggest challenges the military community faces when moving into civilian life. Built on the values shared by rugby and the military (teamwork, respect, discipline, enjoyment and sportsmanship), it gives veterans a community they can relate to from day one.

A Week To Be Proud Of

From the moment Cohort 46 arrived, the group came together as a team. [Add 2–3 sentences on highlights: number of attendees, venue, sessions, guest speakers, standout moments.]

Over the week, the cohort:

  • Took part in practical coaching sessions and developed their session-planning skills

  • Learned from experienced coaches and industry professionals

  • Built friendships and a support network that lasts well beyond the final day

  • Left with new confidence, new skills and a clearer sense of what comes next

[Optional: add a short quote from a participant. Quotes from cohort members make the strongest content and help the post rank for real search queries.]

Thank You To Howard Tenens

This cohort wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of our sponsor, Howard Tenens. Backing from businesses like this lets us keep delivering TTR free of charge to the veterans who need it. On behalf of everyone at Rugby For Heroes and Cohort 46, thank you.

Who can join Transition Through Rugby?

TTR is open to serving personnel and veterans who want to gain a coaching qualification and take a positive step into civilian life. You don't need to be an experienced player or coach. Whether you're leaving the forces soon or left some time ago, the course could be the start of a new chapter.

Interested in joining a future cohort?

Know someone who could benefit?

Many veterans find their way to TTR because someone they know passed the details on. If you know a service leaver, veteran or serving member of the Armed Forces who might benefit, please share this post with them, or forward them to our TTR course page.

Congratulations to everyone on Cohort 46. We can't wait to see what you do next.
